About the Journal

Afghan Medical Journal (AMJ) is an international, peer-reviewed, open-access journal established under Kabul University of Medical Sciences (Abu Ali Ibn Sina).

The journal publishes high-quality research articles in medical and health sciences and follows internationally recognized standards, including guidelines from the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE) and the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).

All manuscripts undergo a rigorous double-blind peer review process and are published both online and in print.

The journal publishes original research, review articles, and case studies in the following fields:

  • Clinical Medicine

  • Public Health

  • Epidemiology

  • Basic Medical Sciences

  • Paraclinical Sciences

Priority is given to research addressing national and regional health challenges.

The journal is published quarterly (four issues per year).
